THE WOLF AND THE LADY
There was a disturbing amount of fear in her eyes,
her lips quivered in deception and her nose twitched for every time she lied. I
could sense distress in her tone, but her words mocked my observations. I saw beneath
the lies her mouth spoke but I had no reason to doubt the gentle words she
spewed, a barrage of loosely knitted words as they flew out of her.
Life’s a gift, ‘’I began’’, wrapped and handed over
to us. Many unwrap theirs with positive anticipation and an eager spirit hoping
to get all they have dreamed of, while some do the opposite.
Do we have what it takes to pick the ‘’Perfect’’
gift?
I’ll give a negating answer as we are all given a
perfect gift regardless of our individuality or personality, however we all
have different unwrapping process.
Her’s was no different experience from most
millennials. Value was placed on the distractions and mundane values other than the wealth of
experience and re-shapening gained from the process.
Ladened with some sort of expectations that has been
unaccompanied with the right attitude and mind set, she wore depression as a
garment and portrayed a life that expected doom.
No one’s free ‘’I continued’’, the battle between
the two wolves inside of every man isn’t over. It has broken out into a fierce war
that rages daily, threatening the peace within.
Who would quench the rising inferno with an ocean of
love, laced with teachings that aim to instruct, correct and redirect steps into a deeper understanding of the values that matter?
I’ll say you first!
The war will end when we
feed the right wolf: self-love, courage, kindness, gratitude and selflessness.
Let these virtues guide you as against vanity and mundane living the world
preaches, as everyone looks out for a certificate of happy flaboyant living plastered boldly
on lives that are unhappy, bruised and bleeding.
Let the paradigm shift begin, from folded arms that
live in expectations to arms that work with gratitude and goal oriented living.
From tearing each other down in hopes of rising to lending all to lift others.
From a struggle to show off wealth and happiness as a sort of approval to
actually putting the effort into living without the pressure to be approved by
a world that isn’t really watching.
I looked into her eyes again after my speech. This
time I saw hope and a wolf willing to keep fighting for liberation against
baggages from the past, guilt and regrets accumulated over the years. Her lips
spoke the truth as she re-affirmed a fresh start amid hearty smiles that resonated
with her body language.
