Ready For The Next Destination?

Image
2017 was quite an epic year! It was what I termed a glorious destination with a rough start.  Quite a number of achievements was made and so many struggles were overcome.  The next big question is....... Are you ready for the next destination? The next destination is 2018 which is about few hours from now.  How ready are you to embark on this journey? I see entering into a new year as embarking on a voyage. You don't necessarily know the very exact destination but you plan for an amazing sail by getting fully prepared for the ''Journey''.  Life itself is a journey, where the end we don't have a vivid idea as to what it holds. The sincere truth being that you can actually get to determine where you get to and this depends on what you carry along with you.    So the question now is, what are you carrying with you? You are in charge of the vehicle and you decide who you let into the car.  I really don't have much to say but I sincerely wo

MERRY CHRISTMAS.....

Image
It's Christmas again and I'm so excited. There isn't any celebration that I love the way I love Christmas.  Waking up early and thinking of how busy the day is going to be, then again I remembered that I have a family to wish a VERY Merry Christmas.  On that Note I wish you all  a wonderful celebration and an amazing time with your loved ones. Don't forget Jesus is the reason for the season. So spread love and be happy.  I love y'll and I want to say A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has given me a reason to write and I appreciate your comments and contributions.   I am deeply grateful and appreciative of all your contributions to the blog and always making out time to read despite your busy schedules.  I hope we will have a great time here next year. I have so many things planned out for you guys and I'm sure you will love 'em. HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND AN AMAZING NEW YEAR From all of us at KENDER.

WORD FOR TODAY!

Stop thinking and start doing! You only allow fear, doubt and indecision to creep in when you continiously think about what ever you want to embark on. I woke up this morning, and the first question I asked myself was "What's the  next chapter? The question made my eyes flip open and I searched for answers on my vision book. You are about facing the next chapter and you got to be ready, but one thing you have to understand is that nobody is ever fully prepared.  Each step unfolds gradually as you work on your plan. So you have to stop giving it so much thought and start already. The so much thinking, strategising and re-strategising leaves you at one point.....your comfort zone. Ironically you think you have to be fully prepared but no, all you need is an idea and a detailed action plan. Its may not actually go as you planned, but you learn all the way and get better everyday. Dont forget, we become better at  what we do everyday. Choose wisely and become who yo

ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET, GO....

Image
How does 2018 look in your mind's eye? As Earl Nightingale said, we become what we think about. Before the whole goal planning for the new year, it's important that you think what you plan. You can't plan A and your thoughts say B, you'll definitely have B as your reality. Now let's make 2018 great with the following steps. Start by feeding your thoughts it's actual reality . You want a year full of impact, think it. Those words ''If you can think it, you can do it'', is actually true. Make it your reality by aiding your goals through positive thoughts. Change those habits that ain't yielding positive results . Adopt a new positive habit one at a time. Make a conscious effort at changing those bad habits (You don't need to be told this). Always remember that good habits are difficult to form but easy to live with while bad habits are the opposite. For example, waking up early is difficult but it'

2018.......................90% Wow, 2017 did pass so fast. So many memories. I think I started off the year really bad (how many can relate to this?). I wrote off 2017 so fast and never expected anything good from the year but as they say "you can never tell when it happens" If I have learnt one thing in 2017, it's to be positive and always stay hungry . After all. 2017 is ending so good and I couldn't be less thankful. In as much as 2017 has taught me a lot, It also gave me a clearer picture as to what life as an independent adult looks like. Most of all I'm grateful I survived and I'll continue to do so. Life does offer us lemons you know. Some times we are faced with so bitter an experience that the only option we see is to give up (I can't count how many times I wanted to pack my things and move back to my parent's place), but we push through and refuse to be termed average. This is actually the first time I'm excited

CLUELESS...

Image
We stand together, striving to achieve one goal called survival. Suddenly we realize we move just in the opposite direction of our acclaimed missions. The creator's creation chooses the mundane over  the valid statements proved in  parchments written by men unknown. What did we  pledge to believe? Who orchestrated the standard of belief and made strong the assumptions of men. Who could have borne the responsibility of the  questions that surround  the imperfections we see or the absurdity that has swallowed the said reality of mortals. Its all patterned in a wave of unknown mysteries. The dry mass of hardened human matter which seemed to be the only source of connection to many questions unanswered lies buried deep on a surface sparsely scattered with dirt. We plead with a community of the down trodden, seeking freedom from abused human behavior, legacies,  tradition and ways which proved to be non adaptive. Who would plead our case and fight the course of men who had

LETTER TO AREWA

Image
Dear Arewa It's been months since death took you away. I lost my entire world the day I lost you. I remember the way you smile and close your eyes to fight tears cause you laughed deeply from your heart.  Arewa, It's been cold since you left, the world has lost it's color and I can only wish to join you. I watched you every evening when you returned from work. Your face bore the perfect charm even in your tiredness.  For every time I waved at you, Arewa you waved back with a smile so perfect like that of an angel. I always planned for the day I would talk to you. I imagined you thought me to be a dumb, but my guts always failed me each time I ever wanted to try.  I wrote you a note but each time I gave myself one excuse or the other not to give it to you. I felt you were just too perfect for any human not to talk of me.  My thoughts were true after all. I waited on that Thursday evening for you to pass. I had made up my mind to tell you how I felt. Taking your

What is friendship

Image
Like they say "lots of water has gone under the bridge" and so has many defined friendship to suite  themselves. Now my question is: Who is really a friend? Is friendship really needed? Why are good friends so hard to come by? Are there really loyal friends I've though and thought of thousand of reasons why humans behave the way they do. In earnest we all do need friends even if not many but one true friend. The world is crazy enough for a person to be alone. We need each other without the back biting, hatred, jealousy and envy.  I need YOU and you need ME. Indeed friendship is sweet and should be tasted by all.  Do you want to be a true friend? I stand for friendship, I stand for togetherness, I stand for winning together. I don't know how far this article goes but if I'm able to pierce through one heart to truly open up to true friendship. To truly allow love to reign. Let the word friendship mean something to you a

EPISODE 3 Osaro slowly walked towards the gate and back to his car. His face bore a lustrous expression with a hint of doubt. He made his way back into the hotel lobby thinking if it was ''Nma'' he just encountered. Sweeping the thoughts away, he rejoined his friends                     ..................................................................................... Purple, going through the pictures from Saturday's shoot was impressed. Mike had sent her some of the footage from the shoot and she was pleased with the job he was doing. One thing she had in common with Mike was his ability to deliver hundred percent at all time. A smile played on her face as she remembered how they met.  She met him at a fashion show organized by one of the clothing line she worked for. His dedication to work even when others played at the shoot attracted her to him and after a slight misunderstanding with one of his ca

DRINK IN THE PROCESS.

Image
I pushed through the last set of the sit ups with excruciating pain. I had completed 80 reps already and had 20 more to go. I looked at my tummy, (Gosh !) I didn't see no abs popping out. I've been on this ''abs acquisition'' thing since September and yet I didn't have anything to show for it. So many times I wanted to quit but the mental picture of the way I wanted to be kept me motivated.  I finally finished and went straight to the shower. As usual most inspiration and ideas comes while I shower (who else can relate). While bathing  the sentence "Drink in the process" kept ringing in my head. I actually paused to think  about it, then I realized what it meant. Imagine this...... In September, I decided I wanted to have abs and a toned body. I started working out almost every day to achieve my goals. Every exercise I engaged in was solely to achieve my goals. Now when I thought about the sentence "Drink in

MORNING RITUAL

Image
What's the first thing you do  in the morning? When you get out of bed, what's the first thing you do? Possible options................. Pray Scroll through your phone for messages, news feed etc Jump straight out of bed to shower cause you are late Stay in bed a while longer thinking about how messed up your life is And so much more. The first thing you should do once you wake up is to find something to be grateful for. Appreciate the fact that you are living. Be grateful for air, food, family or even shelter.  Even if you don't have any of these, be grateful for life. No matter how awful or wonderful your life is, be grateful to God for what ever you have no matter how little. Gratitude controls the spirit of your day and gives you the energy to push through the day. Quit complaining first thing in the morning.  That's only going to wreck havoc for the rest of the day. Instead reaffirm  positive words  to yourself . Let those words

PULL OFF THE MASK...........the wake up series

We live in a world where everything is staged. No one bares it all and nothing is ever as it seems. They teach us to never say the truth about how we feel, what we are going through, and never to talk about the crazy thoughts in our head. We are told in order to fit in we must play by those ''rules'' We are constantly afraid of being judged when we reveal our true selves. In a bid to fit in we are cocooned in life by a constant fear of rejection. But for how long? Social media has also not failed to give us that illusion that everyone's life is perfect. Everyone seems flawless, successful, fit, disciplined, rich and above all  so comfortable in life. Then we try to want to be as flawless as they all pretend to be. It scares me that our need to be accepted by others has driven us into non existence while still living.  We play these games and even when it comes to matters of the heart, we don't hold the breaks. We continue to live in lies and s

EPISODE 2 The rains had been torrential for over a week. After what seemed like a never ending down pour, the sun shone again bathing the city in golden shafts of sunlight and sight so beautiful to behold.  The vegetation so lush and green. One would have to take a moment to admire the scenery but not for people who had experienced the horrid rains. Umbrellas had turned to walking sticks for the older men. The wind blew softly caressing the leaves on the tree as the birds chorused beautiful tunes into the ears of late risers like Sarah. She rolled from one end of the bed to the other, kicking the sheets to the floor. A quick look around the room showed evidence of her inability to put her stuffs together. Cloths slovenly placed around the room, she gathered herself off of the bed and clumsily went into the bathroom. Her strides were jolted by a heap of cloths beside her dresser. She kicked the pile lazily and headed for th
