INTERTWINED

Image
Cold nights endured for far too long. Eyes shining into the blackness of the rainy cold nights. Flashes of our friendship that blossomed every split second came in vivid pictures to my mind. My only friend who told me I can strutted out the door in elegance. Hair flipping side to side in response to the unwavering wind and dancing to the beats her hips and long straight legs made in unison Friendship made out of nothing ''Nothing'' which stood for our bared minds, minds that bore the thoughts that ran deep and made unsteady lines of doubts, relief, fear, uncertainties and momentary glimpse of happiness.  We met when we both were lonely and unwilling to settle, rather we looked forward to enduring through the wait with a shinning hope of finding that love strongly chiselled on a rock that bore its sharp edge deep in the earth.  She looked at me and I looked through her. I saw the love in disguise, I saw the pain and a life that had surviv...

10 Powerful Habits Of Every Girl Boss

Image
The word ''Girl Boss'' has been in circulation for quite a long time now and I personally like it. It connotes independence and a sense of achievement to every girl who uses it the right way. A ''Girl Boss'' is an industrious, disciplined and independent woman who strives to have her own and become more through helping others and learning more. She is savvy, articulate and creative in so many ways. The social media perception of the word ''Girl Boss'' has given a misrepresentation of what it actually means. In the rise of the advocacy for women to be given opportunities in places of power and become more involved in decision making, independence and run affairs, the word ''Girl Boss'' came up. The girl child is now given opportunity to go to school, become well informed and grow in the different facets of life. In a bid to raise fully baked ladies who will not parade themselves in mediocrity with no knowledge and a...

The Wake Up Series .............SELF AWARNESS

Vulnerability is one of the hardest aspects people ever show. It's so difficult being seen as vulnerable. Many call it weakness. As often as possible we wear strength as a cloak over our weak bodies or fragile hearts. The facade of strength seen makes people around treat us differently. So many are broken, defeated, frustrated,  agonized, pained and confused however, no one knows that. In their weakness they are thrown off with so many life challenging issues and yet they somehow find a way to thrive. To all those people including myself I shout well done! One thing much more important than showing strength is actually to be strong on the inside. Instead of wearing the facade, take time to rip off the bandage and allow yourself heal. As broken and defeated as you are, you will still rise in strength and wisdom to handle more situations that will come your way if you take time to get strength through healing and learning through the process. True strength comes from kno...

My Perfect Valentine Date

Image
I'm actually not a valentine person. Oops! So you are wondering why I'm writing on a perfect valentine date? Well, out of request and popular demand I decided to share my thoughts on how you could enjoy a Valentine's date night considering it's a work day. You'll probably come back from work tired exhausted and half sleepy. So if that's the case, go to bed and snore your lungs out... Kidding! Let's start again. Perfect valentine date.....how should it be? Keep it simple. A dinner at home with your partner or just yourself is perfect. Movie night at home is also perfect. The most important thing is the love that should genuinely go around all day and all year long. Valentine depicts love and sometimes its saddening how it takes just one day of the year to appreciate love or show love. The love buzz makes you think that love would probably start and end that day. Finally (like I've been listing *Pheewww) enjoy that day and make the most o...

"Being single" MEET VICTORIA

EPISODE TWO Before I go on, I’ll like to tell you something about my parents. My Dad was the planner and wanted to get every thing all detailed out before he ever ventured into anything. As much as this was good, he lost some really good of opportunities due to that way of living. Now my mum was the spontaneous one. She just went with her guts and she was a goal getter.  I took a bit of both however, when it came to the matters of the heart my Father’s planning and over-thinking attitude took over. I just wanted to get it right. My parent’s relationship had an influence on me. They were just perfect together even if they didn't realize it. My father’s personality complimented my Mother’s and I could see the way they both blended. I wanted that too. After my call to my girlfriend and happily announcing to her that I was in a relationship, it took me weeks before the idea and realities of what a relationship is and should be settled in my mind. I hadn't been in o...

LET'S WORKOUT ...

Image
I thought to share my workout routine with you'll this morning. However, I'll like to note a few pointers. I usually love to workout in the morning but for days I find it difficult to drag myself off the bed, I end up working out in the evening after work. There is really no rule that states you must workout in the morning. Either morning or evening, the most important thing is consistency.  I decided morning workouts over evening because of certain benefits I observed with working out in the morning. I noticed I performed better both mentally and physically. My body's metabolic rate increased and I felt energetic all through the day. I read more about morning workouts and its benefits and I could relate how I felt to what I read.  Now, for those of us who ain't morning persons, It's really going to be a big challenge having to adjust to workout in the morning. You just have to try it out once and see how your body reacts to it.  Let's get into the worko...

5 WEIGHT-LOSS MINDSET TO ADOPT

Image
Loosing weight has been my journey since 2013 and I haven't gone back on my pledge to remain healthy and fit. I decided to loose weight when I turned 21 because I felt skinny was more sexy than fat. I had several  people refer to me as ''Fat'' and that hurt me badly so I decided to start working out and watch what I eat.  At first I started off for the wrong reasons and with time I got better at setting my priorities right and fixing my mindset. That was when I began my fitness journey and not weight-loss. I wanted more than just loosing few pounds. I wanted to be fit, I wanted my body toned and most of all I wanted an overall healthy body and mind. As this mental shift helped me, I decided to share with some persons who has been struggling with loosing weight or achieving a sustainable weight loss. Make healthy living a lifestyle : You should understand that when trying to loose weight, you are not just whipping up an easy fix that is momentary...
