5 WEIGHT-LOSS MINDSET TO ADOPT

Image
Loosing weight has been my journey since 2013 and I haven't gone back on my pledge to remain healthy and fit. I decided to loose weight when I turned 21 because I felt skinny was more sexy than fat. I had several  people refer to me as ''Fat'' and that hurt me badly so I decided to start working out and watch what I eat.  At first I started off for the wrong reasons and with time I got better at setting my priorities right and fixing my mindset. That was when I began my fitness journey and not weight-loss. I wanted more than just loosing few pounds. I wanted to be fit, I wanted my body toned and most of all I wanted an overall healthy body and mind. As this mental shift helped me, I decided to share with some persons who has been struggling with loosing weight or achieving a sustainable weight loss. Make healthy living a lifestyle : You should understand that when trying to loose weight, you are not just whipping up an easy fix that is momentary

''Being Single" MEET VICTORIA

Image
EPISODE ONE Love meant more to me than just being in a relationship. My need to feel something so deep and real kept me off the relationship radar for a long time. Growing up, my father openly made us aware that we weren't supposed to be associated with the opposite sex so the ''Boyfriend'' word was totally off limits. None of us dared talk about it, thinking about it was risky too as my mum could read your thoughts by just looking at you. My first relationship was at the age of twenty-three (23). Prior to then, I've had boys ask me out but I couldn't be in a relationship. I feared boys would get me pregnant and treat me badly. Every association with them lead to one thing: TROUBLE.  My half-baked mindset was never corrected, however as I travelled the literary world, I saw a different picture of Love and that was the picture I wanted to be associated with. I wrote my own fairy tale and sometimes they had bitter sweet endings. I was far from

INTRODUCING: "BEING SINGLE"

Image
Relationship is one topic that would never seize being on the lips of everyone. We literally live and breathe different types of relationships, however for the ‘’Being Single’’ series, we are concentrating on the man and woman love relationship. When it comes to the singles, you almost hear many say ‘’It’s OK to be single’’. As much as this sounds very comforting, how easy is it really to be single and truly ‘’OK’’. There are really so many challenges that we bottle up because no one wants to be judged or seen as weak  The holy book quoted that God said during creation that it’s not good for Man to be alone and He made him a help mate. Therefore, its not good that either man or woman be alone. Now the puzzle is how OK is it for anyone to be ALONE. ‘’Being Single’’ series was born out of my passion to tell my story and really tell it all so I can impact others through my experiences. I profiled my story first and I felt ready to start (as I've been working on this se

MY MORNING ROUTINE

Image
I usually wake up at 4am on weekdays and 7am on Saturdays and Sundays. This routine is majorly my routine on weekdays (Perhaps I’ll share my routine for weekends. At 4am when I wake up, I conveniently turn off the alarm clock and think for few seconds if I really have to wake up at that time. I finally get off the bed at 4:03am PRAY/MEDITATE I say my morning prayers and mediate. I also declare some already written down self-affirmations and after that I drink two cups of water. This usually lasts between 4:03am and 4:30am. At this time everywhere is pretty quiet and concentration is at its peak WORK I usually write down my to-do list for the next day just before I go to bed and also choose a blog topic if I’m supposed to post the next day. Between 4:30 through 5:30am, I publish on the blog over a cup of coffee. As soon as I’m done with editing and publishing, I prep for my workout and respond to emails that needs urgent attention or response. EXERCISE I love

8 Morning Habits For Better Living.

Image
Its a new year and the struggle to keep up with new year resolutions is real (I personally I'm not a new year resolution kind of person and I'm sure going to talk about that before the end of January). We all know that the morning is one time of the day we are most productive, so I decided to share some healthy habits to imbibe this year and the rest of your life to help you achieve your goals and more importantly become a better person.  Never snooze the alarm button . If you are meant to wake up at 5am, do not indulge by snoozing for another five or ten minutes. That little snooze disrupts your morning routine and ends up being a 30 minutes or one hour sleep in.  Pray/Meditate . Don't forget to start the day with God. Drink at least two glasses of water . If you want to fill your system with a gallon of water, be my guest however I advice two glasses of water to help cleanse your system and get your body ready for the day.  Stay OFF your phone/Social media fo

DIY: HOME MADE LIP SCRUB

THE MIND and IT'S DEPTH

Image
Depths fail the word to describe the mind As deep as the ocean yet filled with treasures unimaginable Filled with thoughts, worries, faith, beliefs, regrets, memories and pains. The face never shows the turbulence of the ocean within Neither does it answer questions of uncertainty that is etched on the worry lines on the face. We choose not to speak sometimes yet we may be consumed with the battle of what drowns and what stays afloat. Doom knocks when faith is defeated and has stayed drowned for a long time Feed the mind and by all means allow faith and hope stay afloat. My mind my treasure. K'thoughts
