The "9-5" Mindset

Being an employee has taught me alot. I've had to deal with deadlines, presentations I have no idea what should be said, switching to an idustry I was 100% clueless.

Few weeks into working I stumbled into a book called "The rules of work".

As usual I delved in and at the end I could summarily say the book was all about "Kissing your boss's ass". (Which in my opinion is not entirely the reality)

In as much as the book sold a stereotyped opinion about employee and employer relationship, I still picked up a lot of valuable content that has helped me through work.

A wholistic mindset about work or working for another person stems from being an employee who has taken ownership of the business or an employee who has once worn the shoes of an entrepreneur and is willing to serve.
Mine has been a bit of both. Starting an online business while still actively in a 9-5 has given me quite  a balanced mindset.

Generally speaking, most employees has imbibed the 9-5 attitude unknowingly.  The unbalanced mindset makes the bearers relate to work as a burden which must be borne and a necessary  punishment for adults.

Frankly, work isnt siping champagne on a bright sunny day by the beach. It comes with it's hassle and when that alarm wakes you up at 4am, you'll always have that five minutes relapse and wonder if waking up is actually worth it.

As challenging as working for others maybe, it's even worse of working with a 9-5 mindset. This mindset propels employees to see work as just anything done between the stipulated hours thereby denying us the power and the willingness to go beyond our comfort zone or the paid hours.

Studies have shown that employees who put in their best at work and aim to get result rather than look forward to the close of work to ditch anything that reminds them of work has been found to do better as entrepreneurs/business owners.

The goal is to set targets and achieve them and even aim to contribute positively in any environment you find yourself regardless of the ''capped time''. I have trained my mind consciously to work at achieving rather than passively sticking around for the pay cheque.

For some people who have found themselves in a routine work that sucks up the enthusiasm for work, how about you research and find out more exciting and amazing ways to go about your work and produce even better results.

Now ditching the 9-5 mindset isn't just to be productive at work, but it goes along way to push you to extremes you never knew you could mentally reach. It goes ahead to inspire and get you ready and better equipped to be a business owner with 70% chances of succeeding.

I hope this post inspires you to be the best in your work place and life in general.
