6 Books that made my Year

The literary world is evolving by the day and it's a struggle to keep up. You pick a book off the shelf and the next day another is termed best seller and you just have to read. It's no news I love to read and above all I love good stories. I must confess, my reading habit dropped badly this year and I had more books unfinished than ones I actually read through. That been said enjoy my best six for the year.

Before you delve in, you should know that I wont be summarizing the books or giving you major insights. Just hints to let you know I totally enjoyed it and avoid screwing your suspense and thrill when you eventually read. If you have read them, please share your thoughts with me. So in no particular order here are my best six.

1) SECRET FIRE BY JOHANNA LINDSEY



I loved every page I read. The engagement and the story line way great. My imaginations ran wild and I didn't drop until I finished. You'll should read this one. I'd probably love to have a book club just for this book.

2) THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*CK BY MARK MANSON


Everyone already knows how I loved this book. I've talked about it on my IG (@theassistantsbykender)and the twist was on another level.

3) BORN A CRIME BY TREVOR NOAH

I learnt so many amazing life lessons wrapped in a comic relief. It was totally one of my best.

4) WE'RE GOING TO NEED MORE WINE BY GABRIELLE UNION


I termed this book the unconventional book. From the moment I started reading, I got glued and finished in no time. This book is one reason I love to share my story. Sharing your story not only educates, but inspires so many. 

5) GIRL BOSS BY SOPHIA AMORUSO


This one gave me the thrills. Beyond amazing. A good example of ''Never forget your humble beginning'' Its totally a must read especially of you have a problem believing in yourself or what you can do. 

6) TOOLS OF TITAN 


For every time I read this book I always had a thing or two to jot down. It's more than just a must read, its a valuable book for a life time. 


Come 2019 I'll read voraciously and bring back the book review section. That way I let you'll in on amazing books that will impact us positively.

The brown rusty leaves rolled over her legs as she sat helpless on the grass. The park was sparsely populated which made it very easy to stay unnoticed. Lifting her head, struggling to see through the heavy clog of tears welling up in her eyes. The day was getting dark, darkness has become her place of solace. She kept a steady gaze at the kids running freely, playing catch while she battled with the decision of either staying back or going home. Home? That house didn’t feel like home and it hasn’t felt like home in a long while. THE UNKNOWN CALL

I twisted to critically appraise my curves in the tall glass one last time. I had not watched television or gone on a proper date for over three months, not since work had become so demanding. Part of me still aggrandized the image of lying in bed, snacking on a good pan pizza and finally sleeping off on some random Netflix movies.
