AMBITION VS IMPATIENCE

How does one differentiate between ambition and impatience?
Generally speaking, we all know that it's nice to be ambitious (but not overly ambitious cause too much of everything they say is not good), but care has to be taken that impatience is not mistaken for ambition.

So let's quickly define the two terms so we could get a clear picture of what each talks about.

Ambition  is the desire for something that usually confers distinction. Literally it is the desire to distinguish one's self from others. While impatience is the eagerness to begin a thing or to achieve something.

In both cases a desire has to be birthed. Usually a desire for something or someone as the case maybe. When desire is followed up by hard work, it could still be taken for ambition which is evident in the outcome.

But before the outcome how can one be ambitious and yet not slide into impatience.

SIGNS THAT ONE IS IMPATIENT

ANXIETY: When a desire for something is embedded in anxiety, its a huge sign that impatience has crept in. Usually anxiety results to nervousness over that particular desire and in no time every means possible to get that desire accomplished is sought (both the negative and positive).

Survival in life and attaining a great height is all we want. That can be termed as the desire. When we become nervous about what tomorrow may bring or what the future holds for us, we loose the reasoning ability to create brilliant ideas that will make us relevant and in turn take us to that height we desire.

RESTLESSNESS: Being unduly restless about a thing/desire is another sign that one is impatient. Impatience instills restlessness into a person and the right attitude to go about the desire is lost. Over time, restlessness drives away confidence in achieving a particular feat.

A thousand obstacles show up and ways in which the desire can not be achieved shows itself. At this point, the individual usually resorts to either pushing away the desire completely away from his/her  mind or totally depending on someone or something else to accomplish it.

Patience is a virtue and ambition is the stepping stone to greater achievements. Standing out amongst your peer and being a standard to be reckoned with is what we all hope for, but while at it, we should remember that impatience hinders progress instead of accelerating it. So we should be careful to distinguish our actions if they depict impatience or ambition.

Don't forget, when ambition meets hard work, success is achieved.

Quit impatience while driving, working, reading or any thing at all you're doing in life.
