CREATIVE LICENSE ! !

I woke up on a Saturday morning and the only thing on my mind was the saloon.  I just wanted to get some lovely chat and of course some Amebo gist.

"We all like tori and saloon gist can sweet eeh"

I got to the saloon and while waiting for my turn I started conversing with the girl next to me.  She was so inquisitive and just within ten minutes of talking with her she already knew so much much about me.  When I told her I had finished serving, her face brightened up the more.

"Are you looking for government employment or you want to employ others", she asked seriously adjusting to face me. I shrugged a bit, quite uncomfortable at her question.
"I'm looking for a good paying job, I said but in the mean time I'm just doing my thing.
"What is your thing"?
"Well I write.,.....blog and do some freelance fitness consulting".

She was so excited and her eyes shone like a bright rechargeable lamp.
"I really don't believe in graduates going around and searching for jobs when they can actually create one. I strongly believe we all have something to do"
I was getting more interested in the conversation.
"So do you already have what you are doing or still trying to figure it out"?
She smiled and boldly said "I have found what to do and I'm so passionate about it".
"You can tell me all of it and I'll be the judge of how passionate you are", I said with so much enthusiasm.

"I just finished my final year exams and I'm hoping to join the next batch of corpers by next year. I love Agriculture and its the only thing I see myself doing. I started a project last year and I must confess....it came out so successful. My face was glowing with so much  astonishment. I didn't want to interrupt her so I let her continue but in my mind I was thinking. I love natural foods.......courtesy of agriculture and while growing up my father loved farming too and we usually teased him about it. He too was so passionate about farming.

''So what was your project all about''?
She looked at me ironically "I already told you that.
My wandering mind had put me into trouble..........(hehehehehe)
"I didn't have enough money last year, so the only thing I could boast of was a few seedlings. So I pleaded with the farmers to join them during the planting season and in return I'll give them free seedlings. I equally got help from an NGO who supplies vitamin A to farmers. They wanted to increase the nutrient content of cassava. So when the cassava was ready to be harvested, I joined the farmers to harvest and we had a bountiful harvest........'' she concluded with a smile of victory on her face.

''So did you get any cash rewards from the whole project........(cause nothing goes for nothing nah......winky*)

''Yes, of course I did. The farmers gave me my own percentage of the money and asked me to come back the next planting season and in addition a small portion of land was given to me"
I was genuinely happy for her. She had achieved her first expectations and from her smiles, she exceeded it. She went on and on to tell me about her other plans to solve the problems of preservation and storage. At that point, all I wanted to do was to give her a big hug.

''So you don't need to look for a job'' I told her
''I don't believe in youths looking for the ''white collar'' jobs and wasting precious time. If you have one, its nice but if you don't..........create one.

It was finally my turn to fix my hair. So we exchanged numbers and of course I was stealing glances at her each time I remembered what she had told me. I was so impressed with her and her big dreams, though not what I expected from a young girl but it was refreshing to hear her say it. She not only believed in herself but believed that everyone has got something unique to do and you could employ others as well.

We all have our passion, and I have learnt that there is no limitation as to which area to delve into. Let's explore our potentials and be creative enough to find out the areas of our strength. The license for creativity has been freely given to us, lets make good use of it while we are still alive and strong.

Unemployment will always remain the bane of our existence. So for my fellow fresh graduates, instead of waiting for the government to employ us let's create those job opportunities ourselves. I so much believe in the youths of my time. We are not only intellectually empowered, but we have this dogged spirit to always fight for what we want. So let's all put hands together and create for ourselves a better country.

.... Do have a super lovely day friends ! !
