THE COMPARISON FACTOR.
Hello Guys!
I'm super excited about today's article and am so happy to be sharing with you all. On today's topic almost everyone is guilty including myself. I do it all the time before now. We sometimes or even all the time tend to compare everything about ourselves with others. We check the similarities, the differences, the areas we are better (that gives us a surge of happiness), areas we need to improve on and of course the aspects of our lives where others are better than we are (BOOM.......the tinge of bitterness!!). Virtually everything is comparable these days ranging from progress to finances, relationships, beauty, gadgets, body size etc. (The list is endless). Almost everything and anything. The fact that we want to weigh our progress or achievements with others especially close friends or peers or even friends from 'way back 'is not totally a bad idea at all but the problem is the reasons why we do it and the attitude at which we do it is what really matters. Like they say attitude is the difference maker. We all have certain phases of live and the only difference between two persons is the fact that one passes a phase quite early and the other later in life. So its OK to once in a while review our progress in life with that of our friends and equally having in mind that we are not running to win some big trophy but to get encouraged when we see how well others are doing.
The next big question is this.............................................Who is your standard in terms of comparison and what's your motive for comparing yourself with others?
Thats the point. Our standards matter. When we start the whole comparison thing and fail to see that you maybe a better standard than whoever you are comparing yourself with. We usually end up feeling bad and sometimes even less of a person cause we think others are way better that us. Dont be quick to see others as better off than yourself when you have not really taken time to look at what you've got. All we need is a daily dose of determination to be better than who we were yesterday and to surpass yesterday's expectations with a greater achievement for today. A mindset that is conscious enough to know that you may not have it all now but you will definitely get there someday.
Quit the ''comparison factor'' and turn on the attitude of a champion. No one becomes a champ in a day, it takes continious efforts and never giving up. Win daily by meeting up to your set goals. You maybe down today, (which is not bad at all) just bear in mind you are not supposd to remain down. Make conscious efforts to rise above your yesterday. You may equally want to write down those things you want to achieve and look at them daily cause it serves as a reminder of the things you will own soon. Remember you are the best there is and if you can see it, the world will see it too.
YOU ARE THE STANDARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
